Library emptied of books by our packers ready for painting, new floor, new circulation desk and new bookshelves. We salute some of our packers with a new top photo.

October-16: Early birds get more than worms. John of Scott Brothers Pacific on the job bright and early before 8 a.m. today painting the front door. Both door and paint job provided free of charge by the wonderful contractors who have gone above and beyond to help us create a first class library at no cost to government. New on the top of the page: some of our enthusiastic book packers on the job last month who will return to put the books back.

John of Scott Brothers Pacific works against backdrop of newly painted library exterior. Most services were donated for the $280,000 interior work. The Maui Friends of the Library stepped up to pay for exterior painting (see Lahaina News story tomorrow).
